Make sure that if you are staring at a computer at work for the majority of the day, to get up and stretch your body. Stretching is really important, as remaining stagnant for the greater part of the day can increase stress levels. Move around and chat with co-workers to improve how you feel.

A great tip that can help you feel less stressed is to try and visualize calm in your mind. An example of calm would be a feather slowly falling down or a lake thats barely moving. Visualizing images such as this can help you keep your stress in check.

If you are very serious during the day, try to find time to read jokes or riddles online. This will make you laugh and can serve as a breath of fresh air in a stuffy office environment. Find time to laugh if you want to reduce your overall stress level.

Many of the people who are living with stress believe that it is perfectly normal. If you feel this way you should start comparing your stress levels to that of people around you. You should quickly see that your stress is much higher and is having detrimental effects on you.

Gardening can be an effective release for coping with stressful thoughts. A beautiful garden can be created in either the back or front of just about any home.

Exercise

Shake your stress away. Try this quick exercise. Sit or stand, stretch your arms out to your side, and shake your hands for around ten seconds. Shake them vigorously. While you are shaking, do some deep breathing. Just this short little exercise will help to relieve any tension in your back and neck and help to relieve some stress as well.

If you live near a pool, an important thing to do for stress control is to swim. Swim a few laps in the cool waters to get your mind off of your troubles and reduce stress. This is also a great form of exercise, which will indirectly help your stress level.

If you need a break from stress, take some time to relax and daydream. Visualize a special place where you want to be, and then let your thoughts wander. Exercises like these will help your brain deal with any negative situation.

If you have problems with stress, try joining a sport team or community. Look for adult softball, racquetball, basketball, or other team sports. Sports are great for relieving stress because they satisfy our need for competition as well as proving exercise. Let yourself have some fun and burn some calories to relieve your stress.

It is important to take stress seriously and learn to cope with it before it seriously affects your health. Take time out every day to indulge in the things you love, exercise, eat well and make sure you unwind. Using these methods you can control stress instead of allowing it to control you.
